Cuts straight to the high impact elements...

“I don't feel like this fully captures what I would like to say, which frustrates me a bit. It seems to me like most coaches say the same things over and over again and that it's the same advice one can read if you pick up a book. More than any coach I have had, you are able to cut straight to the high-impact elements and describe it in a way that clicks. As someone trying to improve or fine-tune technique it can be difficult to know which, of all the little details you have heard over the years, you should be thinking about or focused on. We all know that, realistically, we can only think about so many things at a time. You have really helped with that.”

Kelsey and Lorin worked together to address nagging shoulder pain. Kelsey also commented, “The real-time feedback and two-way discussion provided during sessions are very valuable.”

He really tuned in to what our son needed...

“Lorin worked with our son weekly for a little less than 2 months. He really tuned in to what our son needed to hear, and had positive feedback. Andrew wanted to attend the lessons! Since I could not be present, the ability to access the videos at home was nice … Andrew’s progress was obvious!" - Andrew’s mother

Coach Lorin was an essential part of my swimming journey...

“Coach Lorin was an essential part of my swimming journey. His calm, methodical approach to the sport really transformed my thinking. He was relaxed but also not afraid to jump in the pool and show you how things are done. He drew charts and illustrations all over his swimming notes, gave me amazing reading recommendations, and wasn’t afraid to question how things are done or to try something new. One of the most impactful things he did to help me improve was taking videos of me swimming. I had never actually seen myself moving underwater and analyzing those tapes with him helped me grow exponentially. I loved every second I spent working with Coach Lorin and highly recommend him, no matter what place you are in your swimming career.”

Pearl, competitive swimmer and state record holder, 14 years old.

I was really blessed to have Lorin as a coach...

“I feel like I was really blessed to have Lorin as a coach.  I first met him after several knee surgeries and doctors orders to not play tennis anymore. Lorin cared about my health and fitness as well as teaching me proper technique.  I was able to increase my endurance in the pool and in daily life as well.  His workouts were always focused and goal driven.  Truly a great coach!”

I have been swimming competitively since I was 7 years old…

"I have been swimming competitively off and on since I was 7 years old. I have had many coaches over the years including college coaches and think that Coach Lorin is the best I have ever had. I rank him first because he has a unique understanding of the mechanics of swimming and can explain it to you so you get it.

I had the pleasure of working with Lorin while I was swimming in a Masters group at the Clay Road YMCA. Lorin made the team fun, competitive and it was an hour I went out of my way to attend no matter how long the drive. My favorite memory of my coach was how excited he was when I made a National Qualifying time in the 100 Breaststroke!”

My first training session with Lorin was transformative!…

“I've always been athletic, and years of childhood swim lessons gave me enough confidence in open water and pools to start participating in triathlons in my late 30s. After one sprint tri, I realized that there is a wold of difference between leisure swimming and technique-based swimming - swimming aimed at efficiency and speed. That's when I reached out to Lorin for help.  My first training session with Lorin was transformative! After an hour of work, Lorin had taught me how to drop my stroke count by 30% and provided me with training drills and plans I would need to really improve. Lorin's unique gift is his ability to articulate exactly what he wants the stroke to do and how to make your body perform better. If you've worked with other coaches before, you haven't heard what Lorin will tell you. It's new. It's better. And when you work with him, you will be better too! I've gone from mucking my way through a 300yd pool swim to training for mile swims in pools and open water. Without a doubt, Lorin is the best swim instructor I've ever worked with!”

I was afraid of the water…

“My name is Mariela I'm 34 years old and I do like to workout in some many different ways, like weight lifting, Plyometrics and running. I'm from Puerto Rico and I was afraid of the water. I decided to take some swimming lessons with coach Lorin to at least be more relaxed while in the water. However, I found out I was pregnant with my first born son a few weeks after we started the classes. Swimming became the best workout to keep me active during my pregnancy and to bring me back in shape after delivering the baby. Thanks to coach Lorin I'm interested in competing in an Aquathlon in the future.”
